PRACTICE GUIDE / 2026.10.03

How to start a conversation after receiving assessment results.

Connect scores with workplace situations and agree on one action.

MindMatch Journal editorial team

01 Agree on purpose and sharing before discussing results.

Hiring discussions, employee conversations and culture reviews involve different audiences and uses. Explain who sees results and what decisions they inform. Confirm small-team aggregation and personal-information handling with the service provider where needed.

02 Explore factors beyond the type summary.

MindMatch organizes individuals and organizations using 15 common factors. Types summarize results. Pick one factor and ask where it appears at work. Explore counterexamples too, and record both the score and lived experience when they differ.

03 Test one improvement hypothesis.

For a perceived autonomy gap, one hypothetical application is to document decisions employees can make and those needing approval. Agree on an owner, action and review date. Review conversations and working conditions alongside scores; one assessment cannot establish the cause or effect of an improvement.
